About Liz Curtis

I'm a San Francisco-based entrepreneur, former corporate litigator, and CEO of Fulcrum Group, a portfolio of companies ranging from large-scale event production to industry-specific software.

After earning degrees from UC Berkeley and UC Hastings College of the Law, I began my career in litigation. In 2013, I left the legal profession to build Table + Teaspoon, which evolved from a personal cooking and entertaining blog into a nationwide table-setting rental company. I merged the business with Abbey Party Rents in 2020 and became CEO of Fulcrum Group, where our companies now produce thousands of events annually.

Outside of work, I love contemporary art, nonfiction, music, and entertaining. I return to Paris and Provence whenever possible, and take particular pleasure in cooking elaborate meals and hosting friends at home. I also serve on nonprofit boards and gala committees and volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster youth.

On October 18, 2021, I suffered sudden cardiac arrest at home in San Francisco. Five years later, I created this website to document what happened, the complexities of recovery, and the insights I've gained along the way. My hope is that sharing my experience might offer something useful to other survivors and the people who love them.
